The article talks about a Louisiana mayor that put a curfew for a certain age. This was because of the crime rate in the state. Kids were Dying and people felt as if they were not safe. The teen's younger than 17 had to been at home at 8p.m. till 6 a.m. sunday through thursday, friday and saturday it was 11 p.m. through 6 a.m. if you where caught outside in between these hour and you are under the age of 17 you were taken to a curfew center and had to wait till your parent came and picked you up. Repeat offenders' parents were find for not been able to keep there child inside during these hours. They also had to go to counseling.
I think that this works because the crime rate has gone down and people feel more safe living there. And it seems like they really care for the kids because that is there to keep them safe and also to keep the family safe.
I think that if they put out a similar law out in New York City that it won't work because their are a lot of kids here and a lot of people like to through parties so alot of kids will be in the Curfew Center. so i think its a bad idea.
